Dear Minnesota State Fair,

Every August, you call us home.

We come from every corner of the state, bringing with us different traditions, tastes and ideas of the perfect day—and somehow, you make room for all of us.

You remind us how good it feels to gather. To share a table, cheer for a stranger, try something that sounds like it shouldn’t exist but it’s on a stick so we’re game because we feel like we belong to something bigger than ourselves.

Sure, you have your skeptics. You’re hot, crowded, and certainly not for the faint of heart. But you ARE perfectly Minnesotan and those who love you do so, fiercely. It’s a die-hard kind of devotion, built from generations of shared memories and the promise of making new ones.

You are more than a fair. You are our end-of-summer love story, our annual reunion and a joyful reflection of the community we call home.

With all my heart, I hope I’ve done you proud in 2026 and I’ll see you at the Fair.
